Winter Fruit Salad with Honey Lemon Dressing

Winter Fruit Salad with a Lemon Honey Dressing is a fresh and fun way to enjoy fruit as a snack or dessert. In the summer, berries abound for fruit salads, but in the winter, we can take advantage of all the antioxidant-rich citrus fruits and kiwi to create a beautiful Winter Fruit Salad. The Lemon Honey Dressing is both delicious, but not overpowering, and will help prevent the apples from turning brown so quickly.

Ingredients

What (your ingredients):

2 granny smith apples

2 oranges

2 grapefruit

2 kiwis

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons honey

Directions

How (your directions):

Wash all of your fruit before beginning.

Slice apples into 4 quarters, core, and then slice into bitesize pieces into a large serving bowl.

Cut the bottoms of an orange off, so that there are two flat surfaces. Then peel the rind and pith off all the way around the orange. Then slice orange segments away from the membranes into the serving bowl.

Repeat with the second orange and the two grapefruit.

Peel the two kiwi and slice into thin rounds.

In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice and honey. Pour the dressing over the fruit and serve!

Why (the science):  This winter fruit salad will help keep your immune system strong with all of the vitamin C-rich fruits and antibacterial honey!
