Black Sheep is the newest edition to our Classic Line at Stone Creek Coffee. This composition is an experiment on roast. It features two Farm to Cup coffees, roasted three different ways. The three coffees blend together to yield sweet dark roast that has the juiciness of a light roast.
We sourced the primary component of this composition from Central America (Costa Rica, Guatemala, or Colombia). This base is roasted medium to accent the sweet and chocolatey body. The roast on this coffee is just enough to make it accessible: not too dark nor too light.
The secondary component of the coffee comes from Central America or Africa (Costa Rica, Kenya, Tanzania, or Colombia). This component is roasted dark to give the blend a bit more body and a punch of dark sweetness and spice. We think of this coffee as heavily caramelized, not burnt.
The final component of the composition is a light roasted coffee from either Central America or Africa (Costa Rica, Kenya, Tanzania, or Colombia). This little bit of light roast will kick up the juiciness and fruit experienced, will balance out with the other two roasts in the blend.
